Film (band)
Film was a Yugoslav rock group founded in 1978 in Zagreb. Film was one of the most popular rock groups of the former Yugoslav new wave in the late 1970s to early 1980s.
History
New wave years (1979-1981)
During 1977 and 1978, bassist Marino Pelajić, guitarist Mladen Jurčić, and drummer Branko Hromatko were Azra members when Branimir "Johnny" Štulić brought Jura Stublić as the new vocalist. Stublić was to become Aerodrom member, but due to his deep vocals it never happened. The lineup functioned for a few months only and after a quarrel with Štulić, on early 1979, Pelajić, Jurčić, Hromatko and Stublić formed the band Šporko Šalaporko i Negove Žaluzine, naming the band after a story from the "Polet" youth magazine, which was soon after renamed to Film. The memories of the Azra lineup later inspired Štulić to write the song "Roll over Jura" released on Filigranski pločnici in 1982.
Saxophonist Jurij Novoselić, who at the time had worked under the pseudonym Kuzma Videosex, joined the band, inspiring others to use pseudonym instead of their original names: vocalist Stublić became Jura Jupiter, bassist Pelajić became Mario Baraccuda and guitarist Jurčić became Max Wilson. Before joining the band, Stublić did not have much experience as a vocalist, however, since his father had been an opera singer, he often visited the theatre and opera, and at the age of 13, he started playing the guitar, earning money as a street performer at seaside resorts.

Film (film)
Film is a 1965 film written by Samuel Beckett, his only screenplay. It was commissioned by Barney Rosset of Grove Press. Writing began on 5 April 1963 with a first draft completed within four days. A second draft was produced by 22 May and a forty-leaf shooting script followed thereafter. It was filmed in New York in July 1964.
Beckett’s original choice for the lead – referred to only as “O” – was Charlie Chaplin, but his script never reached him. Both Beckett and the director Alan Schneider were interested in Zero Mostel and Jack MacGowran. However, the former was unavailable and the latter, who accepted at first, became unavailable due to his role in a "Hollywood epic." Beckett then suggested Buster Keaton. Schneider promptly flew to Los Angeles and persuaded Keaton to accept the role along with "a handsome fee for less than three weeks' work."James Karen, who was to have a small part in the film, also encouraged Schneider to contact Keaton.
The filmed version differs from Beckett's original script but with his approval since he was on set all the time, this being his only visit to the United States. The script printed in Collected Shorter Plays of Samuel Beckett (Faber and Faber, 1984) states:

This short film is a personal audiovisual exploration of my coping mechanisms as I tend to blind myself from my reality. I never shared it online before, but I want to get my art out of my head and into the world. This film was created as an experimental first person narrative film that uses animation and voice over to tell two narratives: being blind as a result of not wearing glasses and intentionally blinding myself from reality as a coping mechanism. Video art created during COVID 19 pandemic. Written, filmed, and edited by Nicola Rios. We’re still so easily impressed by the “how” of AI-assisted work that we’ve yet to fully engage the “what”, but that time is coming.
I do think how we judge AI works will, ultimately, be pretty similar to how we’ve always judged art! Does it move you? Does it make you think? Do you appreciate the aesthetics? By these criteria, /Imagine, by French actress and filmmaker Anna Apter is an unqualified success. A mere 2min long, the film’s imagery is generated almost entirely by Midjourney, yet the quality of its script and art direction, plus the way it reflexively ties the means of its creation into its larger thematic points is very impressive.

This film was created as an experimental first person narrative film that uses animation and voice over to tell two narratives: being blind as a result of not wearing glasses and intentionally blinding myself from reality as a coping mechanism.

A Social Life is a short film about a career driven woman named Meredith who's living the life she's always dreamed of... online. Meredith strives to live a balanced life: staying fit, working hard and connecting with her friends; she is creating her "image" within her broader social media friend base. But she awakes one day and realizes that her reflection is merely the collection of photos that she has shared with others. Is this her life? Or just a carefully curated brand?
Kerith Lemon is a writer, director and creator with rich experience in multi-platform storytelling and creative narratives. Driven by her passion for stories that emotionally connect, Lemon is drawn to narratives that elevate women, mirror societal complications, and create dialogues amongst a broad audience. Her directorial debut, A Social Life, premiered at the Canberra International Short Film Festival, where it was awarded the prize for Best International Actor and most recently has won Best Ladies First Short at the Lady Filmmakers Festival in Pacific Grove, CA. Welcome to our first-time watching as we react to The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014).
The heart-pounding conclusion to "The Hobbit" trilogy was filled with action, better visuals and a monumental final battle. It is always bittersweet to finish a series off but seeing Bilbo Baggins' journey was definitely worth it.
Directed by Peter Jackson, "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" picks up where the previous films left off, plunging us into the midst of the epic conflict for control of the Lonely Mountain and its vast treasures.\
More characters from "The Lord of the Rings" make an appearance here! We got to see Galadriel, Lord Elrond, Saruman and Gandalf finally confront the darkness that has been brewing all along and it's now revealed to us it was Sauron this entire time.
We hope that you enjoy our reactions, commentary and discussions as we delve into the film's themes and how it impacted the fantasy genre. "What will AI-first art look like? Amidst the memes and the jokey homages, film and video works that articulate a distinct creative vision are underway, ones that move past the novelty of the process to enable new modes of expression. We’re still so easily impressed by the “how” of AI-assisted work that we’ve yet to fully engage the “what”, but that time is coming.
I do think how we judge AI works will, ultimately, be pretty similar to how we’ve always judged art! Does it move you? Does it make you think? Do you appreciate the aesthetics? By these criteria, /Imagine, by French actress and filmmaker Anna Apter is an unqualified success. A mere 2min long, the film’s imagery is generated almost entirely by Midjourney, yet the quality of its script and art direction, plus the way it reflexively ties the means of its creation into its larger thematic points is very impressive.
At its heart, /Imagine is a fairly familiar critique of the deleterious effects of social media on youth. In execution, it is anything but familiar. We begin with a blinking cursor. The film is a voice-over, possibly of “Anna” herself, supplying a text prompt to an AI generator. “Imagine…” she begins, and then starts to describe a 13-year-old on the cusp of joining social media. The voiceover is lengthy and moves through several digressions while images of teens alone, staring into the middle distance, in front of a birthday cake, flash. The kids have a haunted look to them and while the words could be interpreted as a well-meaning warning from a wise elder, the quality of the voice-over, which quickens in pace and spills out in a rush, betrays an anxiety that makes clear that the uneasiness belongs as much to the narrator as to this emergent generation.' - S/W Curator, Jason Sondhi

This short film is a personal audiovisual exploration of my coping mechanisms as I tend to blind myself from my reality.
I never shared it online before, but I want to get my art out of my head and into the world.
This film was created as an experimental first person narrative film that uses animation and voice over to tell two narratives: being blind as a result of not wearing glasses and intentionally blinding myself from reality as a coping mechanism.
Video art created during COVID 19 pandemic. Written, filmed, and edited by Nicola Rios.
Finalist in Fusion Film Festival, Cortadito Puerto Rican Film Festival, and Reel Exposure Teen Film and Photography Festival.

Film was a Yugoslav rock group founded in 1978 in Zagreb. Film was one of the most popular rock groups of the former Yugoslav new wave in the late 1970s to early 1980s.
History
New wave years (1979-1981)
During 1977 and 1978, bassist Marino Pelajić, guitarist Mladen Jurčić, and drummer Branko Hromatko were Azra members when Branimir "Johnny" Štulić brought Jura Stublić as the new vocalist. Stublić was to become Aerodrom member, but due to his deep vocals it never happened. The lineup functioned for a few months only and after a quarrel with Štulić, on early 1979, Pelajić, Jurčić, Hromatko and Stublić formed the band Šporko Šalaporko i Negove Žaluzine, naming the band after a story from the "Polet" youth magazine, which was soon after renamed to Film. The memories of the Azra lineup later inspired Štulić to write the song "Roll over Jura" released on Filigranski pločnici in 1982.
Saxophonist Jurij Novoselić, who at the time had worked under the pseudonym Kuzma Videosex, joined the band, inspiring others to use pseudonym instead of their original names: vocalist Stublić became Jura Jupiter, bassist Pelajić became Mario Baraccuda and guitarist Jurčić became Max Wilson. Before joining the band, Stublić did not have much experience as a vocalist, however, since his father had been an opera singer, he often visited the theatre and opera, and at the age of 13, he started playing the guitar, earning money as a street performer at seaside resorts.
